good n bad.. but more of the bad
ok 1st the good news...
wu bai and china blue are finally coming to perform... may 7th indoor stadium... been wanting to catch them live but nvr had a chance even though they've already come to sg abt 3-4 times... they have a very good bassist and i've been wanting for the longest time to catch them... and furthermore, tix can be obtained by just exchanging a certain number of guiness ring tabs... not that i drink but at least it seems cheaper than paying outright...
k the VERY bad news...
yes... may 7th is the sat just before my main exam in may... this is THE exam, the one which i've been studying the whole year for, so can't screw up... and tat means.. that i can't go for the above =
hmm... tough luck...
i think sg really needs to have more concerts, they seem to be so few being organised... my last one, if i remember correctly, was the linkin park one at the padang.. and that one, IMO, wasn't that gr8...
why u need a casino to boost the economy when we can be the concert hub of SEA... more concerts = more tourist = better for the economy, without the so called "-ve social effects" resulting from a casino..

MSN dos and don'ts... more of the don'ts
ok for the record.. i didnt win a single cent from toto cos my numbers only had one winning number.. so i can't treat anybody anything... =
but back to the real stuff...
in my... (er, 6+?) years of online conversations... ICQ n MSN.. i have to state something which has been buggin me for a while...
when someone asks u a question online... DO NOT type "huh?"... its like one of the most irritating things u can ever reply to a person.. unless the guy asking the question really has a atrocious command of english... in my case, it's really quite stupid cos when i ask a qn, and the other party goes "huh?", i just basically cut n paste wat i just typed, and almost immediately the other guy/gal seems to know wat i'm saying already.. it's like u're reading the same thing TWICE... if u dun get wat i'm saying just read wat i typed AGAIN then...
the next most irritating thing to reply, which i'm sure applies to face-to-face conversations too, is "why?" sheesh, i mean like i'm the one asking the question... so just tell me the answer or not.. dun counter-pose me a question instead... i know of a few people who r really guilty of this and maybe that's why i try to avoid msning them altogether... but i'm sure a lot of u reading this know wat i mean...
ok so now u know my msn pet peeves... so don't use it on me...

TOTOTOTOTO
ok.. finally bought the correct toto ticket for the correct draw happening this thurs...
i remember as a kid, i actually told my dad... "hey winning the toto is easy just pick 6 numbers and they are sure to appear" and then he told me to try for myself... write on a piece of papaer 6 numbers from 1-45 and see how many of them appear... i didn't actually do it cos i guess my dad was right...
so the qn is.. how hard is it to select 6 numbers that are all winning numbers? well, i just got the answer today... 1 in 8,000,000... yup u read it right... 1 in 8 million.. considering how slim that chance is, the winning jackpot amount of 1-3 million bucks doesnt seem to be a reasonable payoff... but this thur's draw is going for 10 million so that kinda changes things a bit, but every year the amount is usually split among several parties.. so that brings u back to the original amt of 1-3 mil again...
but anyway just for the sake of those who don't know much abt toto.. u actually pick 6 numbers.. and 7 numbers are actually drawn... 6 winning numbers + 1 "additional" number... u need at least 4 numbers to match, to win at least $20...
i've heard of ppl who go through their whole lives w/o winning a single lucky draw, so yup i guess since i've won quite a few draws b4, i'm considered quite lucky...
but hey, don't expect to win the lottery, but as li quo huang mentioned in the best bet... "u may not win any cash when u bet.. but if u don't bet, u definitely won't win anything"...
haha.. yes, a blog entry to justify my gambling...

bought my 1st $1 TOTO ticket today...
and (1) i bought for thw wrong draw date, cos i wanted to buy the CNY thurs draw which has a jackpot for $10 mil (2) turns out my ticket had 3 winning numbers... but u need at least 4 to win some cash... oh well... didn't really expected to win, just for fun...
just for the sake of interest.. i actually asked one of those ppl standing around how much do their roses cost... and turns out that a single stalk sets u back $6 and a bouquet $20... kinda cheap actually cos i was expecting them to cost more..
but then i was just wondering wat these ppl do to their flowers after vday when nobody wans to buy them anymore.. throw away? hmm.. thats quite a waste...
but today kinda gave me a new perspective abt vday... i used to think the "most miserable" feeling would be just to be single and alone on vday... turns out there's something worse.. it's actually to have a other 1/2 (ie. bf/gf) but not get to spend it with him/her...
