fav FRENS
was watching reruns of FRIENDS on cable tv last nite... and they were showing the 2nd (or 3rd) season... cant remember and it was then thay i realised that they were showing my FAVOURITE episode... i remember 1st watching it back in JC like 6-7 years ago? and seeing it last nite made me tear just like it did the 1st time i saw it...
basically, the part of the episode which i'm talking about is towards the end of the show, when the whole gang is sitting ard the sofa, watching this tape which was a video shoot of rachel's and monica's prom nite... rachel 1st appeared with her big nose and then fat monica appears out of the kitchen... and later we get a shot of ross with his curly hair n moustache... and if u follow FRIENDS, you will know that ross had this crush on rachel ever since like.. forever
so anyway, turns out that monica's date arrived later in the evening but rachel's didn't... so ross' mom n dad encouraged ross to take her to the prom instead... initially reluctant, ross then proceeded to change into his dad's tuxedo... when he came out, he was smartly dressed but nervous abt taking the girl of his dreams to the prom... he took a moment to calm himself down and told himself "be cool, just be cool"... he then took this bunch of flowers from a nearby vase and started to walk down the stairs to meet rachel...
but... as he was 1/2 way down the stairs... it turns out that rachel's date did turn up afterall... and so the 4 of them (monica, rachel n their dates) rushed pass ross and went out the front door... the video cam then turned to ross.. who had a real disappointed look on his face... following which ross' dad asks for the video cam to be turned off.. and thats the end of the clip...
real sad... because to me i guess i can relate to that.. the loser guy liking the gal of his dreams and he ends up doing something sweet but silly, only to end up being disappointed... so maybe that's why it seems to affect me double whenever i see this kind of scences on tv or movies...
but at least for the FRIENDS episode it had a good ending, because after seeing the tape, rachel was real touched and she walked up to ross and gave his this really passionate kiss on the lips...
but of cos that's just a tv show, with a good ending... and life doesn't always have good endings.. well at least not in my case at the moment...
